Transit Porn!

May 4, 2011

I have been insanely busy, and unmotivated. Well, I say unmotivated, but I have taken tons of pictures for the blog, I jay haven’t gotten around to posting them. I think about you, dear readers, all the time. I think, sleep, dream, and read about transit. In fact, the other day, when I was hanging out with friends, Janine got ahold of my Trains magazine.

She was particularly impressed with the centerfold. Trains magazine is like porn for train nerds.

As for the basic phone dump of photos, let’s start with my latest trip back home. I got lost in Greenville, since my GPS decided I was in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, but it gave me the opportunity to take photos of the Greenville buses!

As for this next one, I needed gas somewhere in the middle of nowhere Tennessee. But the middle of Tennessee rocks some great bike lanes and apparently is more progressive in that respect than Atlanta.

Bikes are okay on roads with 18 wheelers, right? Just stay in those bike lanes….

How to not ride with luggage on the train.

And how to do it right. Bravo, dude, for using the designated luggage areas!

While shopping for Moving Minds: Conservatives and Public Transportation by Weyrich and Lind, I found this disappointing all-cars section in the local Barnes and Noble.

Transportation representation fail.

But I leave you with this bunny suicide.

I’ve missed your postings, CCT Girl. Glad to see you have been back. Your photos are always fun, and the captions as well.

Can’t quite figure out the bunny suicide though. Perhaps because the third rail is in the middle?

I so miss the Colorado DMU. That was like the 1972 Dodge Challenger of trains.
