Stick it to the gas man!

In the past few days I have received several Facebook invites for days to boycott buying gas. The premise is that we’ll fight back and drive down prices cause we won’t buy gas this one day and their bottom line will be hurt so much they’ll have to come down on the price of gas.

OKAY! WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!! Gas Strike March 10th! This worked once before…let’s try it again. On March 10 if everyone does not buy gas for one day, it will hurt the oil companies. It’s time we stood up to them. We CAN have a voice…REMEMBER “MARCH” 10th DO NOT BUY GAS! Please repost this to as many people as you can…it is urgent that this spreads like wildfire!

PS: Try not to fill up the day before or after so that this day will have an impact on the companies

This kinda makes me mad. Really mad. Like PSA making, posting on YouTube video calling people morons wrong kinda mad.

First, gas went up because of unrest in the middle east. In case you missed it, Libya is all sorts of unrested and Egypt had a little unrest this year too, driving up the cost of a barrel of unrefined oil.

Second, just cause you didn’t buy gas today doesn’t mean your butt isn’t going to go out and buy it tomorrow. Or maybe you planned ahead an bought it yesterday. Point being, you’re still going to buy gas because you’re still driving a car.

If you want to stick it to the man, get out of you car. Walk. Ride a bike. Take the bus. Carpool. Take the train. But you’re going to need to buy gas as long as you’re using it, so be truly proactive and leave the car at home. Trust me, you’ll thank me later, after you realize how much money you’ve saved and how much better you feel.

I think it’s ironic there isn’t a gas shortage, just a ‘fear’ of a gas (oil) shortage that’s driving up prices.

Oh, and good point. As soon as the build a train to Kennesaw..

Good luck to MARTA getting rail transit into Cobb/Cherokee County. The big muckity-mucks up there are so sickened by the idea of being included in the “Atlanta area” that they continually reject the idea of extending it up there, for fear of inviting “bad elements” (read: black people) into their fair city. *big long contracted sigh*

They’ll sit in their soccer-ball-magnet-stickered SUV’s for 90 minutes coming from Kennesaw and bitch about traffic while simultaneously patting themselves on the back for not giving into the “mass transportation scam”. Cognitive dissonance in its purest form.

Today, I saw a 6-cent drop of the gas price at one pump where I live… Would the secret recipe work? 😀
