Emanuel and Samberg Block Up the Turnstiles

January 22, 2011

Rahm Emanuel is running for Mayor of Chicago, and wants to get out there with the regular people. So, he did the best thing he could to annoy the shit out of weekday business transit riders: stood around shaking hands with people at the turnstiles of the purple and brown line Merchandise Mart stop on “The L” (ugh, I always hated that). For some reason Andy Samberg from Saturday Night Live was there.

Look dude, I would vote for you if I still lived there, but JeezusBusCardChrist, do not stand in front of the turnstile. Also, everyone: Do not stand at the top or bottom of an escalator or stairway in the train station. Just don’t. MOVE.

Vote Rahm!

He should be inside the turnstiles. It’s like we wants to pretend he’s a normal, transit riding guy, but won’t actually pay the fare. In fact, he could have more face time with folks on the train.
