Total transit nerd
Last Friday I realized I have a problem. A pretty big one. I was sitting in SIP coffee down by Lindbergh station listening in on an NAPTA webinar about transit trends in the recent election when in walked Dr. Scott and I got as excited as had Johnny Depp walked in. Maybe even more excited after she sat down at my table. So there I was, learning how transit measures saw a 74% success rate this year, chatting with Dr. Scott, and telling her about the recent MSNBC article I read about how Generation Y is less likely to own a car. (Which is old news…) I near about had a railgasm.
I am a total transit nerd. In a short year I have become as geeky as any of the transit boys I know. Not because I know as much as them, but because I get excited like a three year old when I even hear the bus pull up to the stop outside my loft. I take pictures of transit in other cities. I’m now known as the MARTA girl, and when I recently made dinner plans with my friend DJ, he immediately asked about picking me up from the station.
I have a problem. And I’m perfectly happy with that.
