Transit News Roundup: Tee Hee Edition

October 24, 2010

These are things you may have already heard. They still make me giggle.

  • MARTA’s annoyingest enemy, Jill Chambers of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Oversite Committee (MARTOC, which just sounds lizardly) has filed for bankruptcy, after years of harassing MARTA about unwise spending.

The obvious question is whether Chambers’ personal finances compromise her credentials as a fiscal watchdog over MARTA.

    Tee hee!

  • The City of Atlanta has gotten funding for the Edgewood Avenue Streetcar, which is a much more worthy use of federal funds than buying more grass for the Loop to Nowhere. Or whatever the hell it would use the money for. Also not a winner: the I75-575 project. (Which used to have BRT in the plans, by the way.)
    Tee hee!
