Flaming Bus + Dali + Freud = My Next Tattoo!
It’s getting to be that time where I get anxious for a new tattoo. It’s partly for the process, getting it done, taking care of it, watch g it heal, and partly because I love them. But I’ve been having some trouble trying to decide what I want me next batch of ink to be. I’ve toted with some ideas including a snake, a skull, or a skeleton couple I drew up. All cutesy, of course. But I recently had an epiphany.
The High is currently featuring an exhibit by my favorite artist, Salvador Dali. But what makes my life is that they have fun wraps advertising the show on MARTA buses all over the city. This got me thinking that I should take the hint and combine two of my favorite things in the world, transit and art.
I have been thinking for a while now about getting a Dali tattoo, something along the lines of his theme paying homage to Freud’s drawers of the secret unconscious. That let’s me throw in a third thing I love, psychology! One of my favorite Dali paintings is The Burning Giraffe.. So I’ve been thinking of getting a tattoo of that image, but replacing the giraffe with a flaming bus. I think I’m clever, and can be pretty sure that’s a unique tattoo. Who else would be that nuts?
