Tell them transit is important!
From the ARC: An Opportunity to Comment on HB 277 Draft Project Selection Criteria
As you are aware, the Georgia legislature passed H.B. 277 in the 2010 session. This bill allows a one-percent regional sales tax referendum to be voted on in regions across Georgia to fund transportation improvements. The Bill establishes 12 special tax districts, based on existing regional commission boundaries. The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is one of them. The referendum would take place in the Atlanta region as part of the 2012 General Primary.
Recently, as required by the bill, the Planning Director of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) issued draft criteria for selecting a set of transportation projects to be funded by the sales tax referendum, if successful. ARC would like to have your thoughts and comments on the draft criteria before final comments are provided to GDOT’s Planning Director at the end of September.

From CCTgirl: The important thing to remember is that a TSPLOST doesn’t necessarily mean anything for transit, so we have to make sure it’s included. You can read more about my take on HB 277 here.
