Yeah, each transit agency also seems to create its own nomenclature additions.
For instance, a BART operator on a train bound for Richmond approaching Lake Merritt will tell riders to “offboard” here for the train to San Francisco.
In DC, WMATA uses phrases like “improvements planned” to mean “large or important segment of rail line(s) to be entirely closed for 3.5 days”.
