The Museum of the American Railroad
When I was in Dallas, Aubs was the kind of awesome hostess who found fun things for me to do, like the Museum of the American Railroad. She found it on FourSquare, of all places, and humored me by taking me.
The folks there were great, and impressed that girls would come to a train museum. I told them about the blog and how it’s written by all girls and they were even more impressed and wanted to read it. I told them their museum would make it on here, but then it took me like a week to find the cord for my camera and I’m just now getting around to this post (I suck). But if you find yourself in Dallas before February, be sure to visit it! They are moving in February for more space, to Frisco. I have no idea where that is.
The Union Pacific Big Boy, the largest steam locomotive ever built, weighing in at 1.2 tons.
The Museum also boasts some great passenger and sleeper cars.
Some fun little truck! One told me what this was, but I forgot. I am so cool like that.
Baby locomotive!
Even Aubs enjoyed the museum, which says a lot, since she’s not the budding foamer that I am. However, she did just text me from St Louis to tell me about a transit museum there……
